Brooklyn-based TVOD stands out for emotionally raw, irreverent lyrics and driving, infectious melodies that never fail to get a room moving. Drawing from both personal and outside fixations: nightlife, heartbreak, World War II, and haunting dreams, the band creates vivid, gritty songs that capture the chaos, humor, and ugliness of being a DIY band in New York City. As Creem Magazine put it: “More than anything, their sound is engineered to make you move.” Pulling from post-punk, egg punk, and krautrock, TVOD weaves these influences into something wiry, urgent, and unmistakably their own.

TVOD began in 2019 as a basement-recorded cassette project, with Tyler Wright tracking dance-punk songs on a Tascam 4-track. Since then, the band—also composed of Jenna Mark (synth, vocals), Mem Pahl (drums, piano, percussion), Denim Casimir (guitar, vocals), Serge Zbrizher (guitar), and Mickaela Piccirillo (bass)—has independently released two EPs: Daisy (2020) and Victory Garden (2021); along with singles: “Alien”, “Mantis”, “Goldfish”, and “Poppies” (2022–2024). The six-piece followed with a debut full-length, Party Time, recorded with producers Félix Bélisle and Samuel Gemme at Gamma Recording Studio in Montréal, QC, and released on May 9th, 2025 via Mothland. According to BrooklynVegan, “TVOD have made a record that dodges mid-’00s indie sleaze nostalgia, forging their own sound, sliding around the outside of the scene and occasionally stage-diving into the thick of it.” Post-Punk adds: “With a sardonic sneer and glazed-over gazes, TVOD serves up a soundtrack to a shindig at the end of days”.

Through heavy touring and the kind of live shows that leave rooms sweaty, frantic, and wanting more, TVOD has built a reputation reaching far beyond NYC. The band toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK, playing sold-out shows along the way, and appearing at major festivals including SXSW (US), End of the Road (UK), Rock en Seine (FR), Best Kept Secret (NL), Hopscotch (US), and Les Trans Musicales (FR). With plans to return overseas in Summer 2026, the band continues to build on a growing international following.

Less than a year after Party Time’s release, TVOD was back in the studio, this time in Leeds, UK recording their follow-up album The Farm (October 16th, 2026 via Mothland & Get Better Records) with producer Danny Blackburn of Adult DVD. The sophomore full-length finds the band pushing their sound further without losing any of the raw nerve, crooked charm, and volatility that has already embedded them in the heart of the underground. Recommended for fans of Viagra Boys, FIDLAR, Gang of Four, and Wire.

TVOD have made a record that dodges mid-’00s indie sleaze nostalgia, forging their own sound, sliding around the outside of the scene and occasionally stage-diving into the thick of it. Guitars are heavy, leaning more toward punk than “angular” that are nicely layered with synthesizers. Behind them are a powerful, taut rhythm section, and gang vocal choruses that, along with strong melodicism and song construction, give the album an all-inclusive feel.

TVOD make everyone want to jump inside the mass of bodies walling off the band, supercharged on excitement as the band goes through high-energy guitar solos of “MUD” or “Party Time”. Just look out once you run into the center; Wright might be standing on the speaker, waiting for the perfect moment to jump on top of everyone.

“Mantis” is a blast of driving no-frills punk, capturing both the band’s irrepressible persistent energy and their surprisingly sticky melodies. It very much encapsulates the punk ethos of loud, fast, and simple, with blaring guitars, machine-gun percussion, and jittery melodies driving the track forward.

TVOD are elbowing their way out of Brooklyn’s young and burgeoning post-punk scene and into the spotlight, expressive and raw in both stage presence and sonic output.
