Birds of Prrrey are no strangers to wearing their hearts on their sleeves. In 2024, they released their first EP Yet, we're still growing in place, an authentic portrait of the transition to adulthood in all its forms. Whether it’s a first encounter with covert misogyny, a lingering heartbreak or a joyful car ride with your best friends, the lyrics hold your hand while you take the trip down memory lane. With Clarence Tremblay on guitar, Grace Spitzley on bass and Noelle Inniss on drums they craft poignant instrumentals reminiscent of 90s soft grunge and a rrriot girl aesthetic to match. Following the EP, Birds of Prrrey Live from CJLO cemented their place as an indie rock gem of Montreal’s new music scene, one defined by a self-determined youth, a love for storytelling and a passion for DIY posters. Featuring songs written during the earlier half of 2025, the band set out to refine their modus operanti of making “loud music for big hearts”. Their upcoming debut studio album Peace Love Homicide (coming on July 19th 2026) sees the trio expand on the themes of their earlier work, experimenting with pop and shoegaze. The album’s thirteen tracks spotlight their signature saturated guitars, heavy bass lines and thunderous drums for a memorable, poignant debut.
