Baby Berserk was founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands by musicians Mano Hollestelle and Eva Wijnbergen, as well as couturière Lieselot Elzinga. Known for their seamless, stylish, and singular blend of music and fashion, the three-piece capture the essence of contemporary nightlife, balancing the raw energy of a live band with the infectious pulse of club music. Heavily inspired by fashion icons the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Lee Bowery, Keith Flint, and Divine, as well as music visionaries such as Le Tigre, Sextile, Peaches, Ladytron, and The Prodigy, they merge punk ethos, couture, and music into one glamorous mess. In turn, the group crafts sharp, alluring, and “politically charged dance-punk” (The Line of Best Fit) tracks designed for the dance floor by seamlessly fusing new wave, electroclash, early house, garage rock, and ’90s pop.
Following the maxi-singles What I Mean / Sleepless (2020 via Les Disques Bongo Joe) and Toxic Kisses / Wartime (2022 via Les Disques Bongo Joe), as well as the debut full-length Baby’s Berserk (2023 via Toy Tonics), Baby Berserk released their followup long-play effort, Slightly Hysterical Girls With Pearls, on November 15th, 2024 via Les Disques Bongo Joe. The sophomore album dives headfirst into the vibrant chaos of modern culture, challenging the status quo, while delivering tracks that range from the hypnotic allure of media-fueled entertainment to the fierce battle cries for equal rights and personal freedom. Each song is a journey through a neon-lit world where anticipation builds, emotions run high, and self-expression reigns supreme. The album encapsulates the highs and lows of life, much like a night out that starts with excitement and ends in unforgettable memories—a soundscape that is as thought-provoking as it is dance-inducing. More recently, they released the standalone single Mind Explodes on May 12th, 2026 via Les Disques Bongo Joe.
According to reputable French tastemaker Les Inrocks, “Baby Berserk is as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the ears [...] a cocktail that is as wild as it is ultra-visual, especially live.” Their explosive, stylish live shows are raw, thrilling, and impossible to ignore. Whether blasting through a beautifully chaotic set at your favorite local venue, taking part in “a deliciously unhinged live performance [and providing] a live, frantic soundtrack” (10magazine) for Charles Jeffrey’s LOVERBOY collection, or mesmerizing unsuspecting crowds at Reeperbahn, The Great Escape, Eurosonic Nooderslag, Dour Festival, or Best Kept Secret, Baby Berserk never fail to leave a mark. While taking their “terrific synth-pop numbers” (KEXP) on the road in Europe, the United Kingdom, and North America, the three-piece got to rub elbows with international phenoms such as Angine de Poitrine, Viagra Boys, Model/Actriz, Shame, and Lambrini Girls.
Baby Berserk’s forthcoming album, Psycho Dance Sleaze (March 19th, 2027 via Les Disques Bongo Joe & Mothland), doubles down on previous releases, again offering a refreshing and invigorating boost for the mind, body, and soul. To be announced on November 24th, 2026 with the reveal of the “French Manicure” music video.
