Birds Of Paradise
Birds of Paradise embrace fresh new sounds that hold on to the romanticism of a past era. The duo consists of multimedia artists Roy Vucino & Hannah Lewis who, after eloping to California, began playing around the world. BOP have immersed them selves in Fassbinder films, Dada art, NY hip hop & punk and the poetic universes of Murakami books as they embarked on a musical trip, with no end in sight.
While paying homage to the melancholic voices of their 70s folk heroes, BOP had to look ahead to the evolution of today's pop music and imagine its own version of romantic pop having absorbed a proper dose of electronica and British post punk.
Besides music Lewis works on film, ranging from music videos to shorts about preservation of tradition & culture. She has written standout songs, such as Red Mass' "Sharp", which she sang as a duet with Mac DeMarco.
Between the two of them they've done work scoring music for Alliance films, high end fashion company Yves Saint Laurent and television (VICELAND,CityTV, MTV, Showtime, Radio-Canada, France 2, La Chaîne parlementaire).
